WHO IS ROCCO?
Restaurant Rocco is more than a name—it’s a story rooted in family, character, and legacy.
Growing up in Verona, New Jersey, my father earned the nickname “Rocco” from the Italian kids in his neighborhood after stepping in to defend others from bullies. It was a name that symbolized strength, courage, and loyalty.
But as time passed, those same kids realized something else—he was just as kind as he was tough. So the nickname shifted to “Rollo,” a playful nod to his softer side.
Years later, I’ve restored the name “Rocco” in his honor—because both sides of who he was matter. Strong when it counted, kind at his core.
Restaurant Rocco is a tribute to that spirit—where bold flavors, genuine hospitality, and a sense of family come together at the table.

Chef Rocco, owner of Restaurant Rocco and son of the original “Rocco,” carries forward more than just a name—he carries a legacy.
Inspired by his father’s strength, kindness, and unwavering sense of character, Chef Rocco brings that same spirit into every detail of the restaurant. From the food on the plate to the way guests are welcomed at the door, his approach is simple: take care of people, do things the right way, and never lose sight of what matters most—family, community, and connection.
Restaurant Rocco is his way of honoring where he came from while creating something meaningful for others to experience and enjoy.
